Director of Operations

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act in accordance with the highest ethical standards, with all applicable laws and regulations in all jurisdictions where the company operates and with any approved company policies in effect from time to time
  • Responsible Mgr. for manufacturing of silicon PV module related products both technical and economical
  • Oversee all daily manufacturing activities at a high-volume, 24x7 facility.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external customers to ensure that product quality standards, production goals and customer delivery dates are met
  • Spearhead the site-level implementation of initiatives such as 5S, SPC (Statistical Process Control) Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing at the onset of production to ensure maximum efficiency and safety for high-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Planning and construction of high integrated mfg. facility
  • Implementation of the organization for planning, construction and operating of mfg. facilities
  • Collaborate with management to set aggressive production targets. Ensure the achievement of these targets by developing and executing a comprehensive operational plan, aligning team efforts to support company goals, and directing the smooth operation of day-to-day activities.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of production operations to identify sources of existing or potential waste. Engage in continuous improvement activities based on principles drawn from Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping methodologies to reduce costs, improve operational workflow, minimize downtime and maximize product quality.
  • Drive cost improvements, equipment up-time improvements and process improvements that increase yield and productivity in collaboration with local and global equipment and process engineering teams.
  • Manage departmental budgets and carry full responsibility for the manufacturing and operations related P&L.
  • Drive equipment standards that are aligned with the company’s Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) philosophies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor best practices regarding safety standards and environmentally sound production for all areas of operation. Ensure the active adherence of all employees to these standards to guarantee a safe working environment that is aligned with the company's philosophy of sustainability.
  • Responsible for the people management, compensation plans and HR relationship
  • Work closely with peers and management to develop and implement core operational guidelines, processes and practices as well as manufacturing standards that maximize departmental productivity and efficiency and that enable stable start and growth in manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure the strategic alignment of module manufacturing operations to overall company goals.
  • Lead and direct all departmental employees. Evaluate, select and train new personnel for positions related to production, maintenance, equipment and process engineering and quality control and also serve as a mentor to support the continued professional development of employees.
  • Measure employee performance using performance management tools to ensure that all departmental staff are effectively aligned to organizational performance metrics. Effectively manage through others by directing cross-functional projects.
  • Skilled in leading and management of organizations with high-grade Engineers and Experts
  • Experienced in managing external suppliers and vendors
  • Interact with internal purchasing departments and external vendors to ensure the requisite supply of raw materials and consumable parts and to guarantee the utmost levels of equipment performance.
  • Interact with local authorities as required
  • Competent in all subjects related to Quality, safety, and Environment issues

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 year of production experience.
  • Solar, Automotive or Semiconductor background experience
  • At least 5 years of experience as a production Manager at manufacturing plant

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $170,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
