Marathon Pipe Line's Right of Way (ROW) Specialist roles and responsibilities include: establishing and maintaining positive relations with landowners; negotiating, maintaining, and enforcing ROW agreements; identifying and coordinating permits for operations and engineering projects; working with landowners, government agencies, commercial businesses, contractors and other company personnel in assuring that Company assets are protected.
Responsibilities
1. Serve as primary contact for establishing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships within the community.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with various municipalities, agencies, leaseholders, and landowners as assigned.
3. Support MPL Engineering and Operations projects by identifying, obtaining, and ensuring compliance with easement rights, access rights, construction permits, and temporary construction easements for MPL operated assets.
4. Administrate planned and unplanned encroachments, including enforcing and interpreting various agreements and easements, and enforcing landowner/3rd party restrictions.
5. Assure compliance with existing agreements; interface with field personnel, Law and MPL Management on various issues regarding executed agreements.
6. Assist in property and pipeline system sales/disposal.
7. Represents MPL on industry boards to influence and emphasize land use philosophy and damage prevention activities.
8. Serve as contact for community relations, compensation, and claims handling within the Incident Command Structure for Company emergency response efforts.
9. This position is posted for Salt Lake City, UT but other Marathon locations that align to the business needs will be considered.

Position Requirements
Degree: Bachelors (Preferred but not required)
Major Discipline: Business (Preferred but not required)
IRWA Senior Right of Way Professional Designation (Preferred but not required)
IRWA Senior Right of Way Professional Designation (Preferred but not required)
Required: Land and/or Pipeline Operations experience (minimum of 5 years).
Computer Proficiencies: Individual must have strong PC proficiency, including Excel and Word.
Travel: Position may require periodic travel
