Best Friends Fur Ever Dog Daycare and Overnight Resort is looking for full-time dog handlers to join our team. If you love dogs, love the idea of working hands-on with dogs, and like a fast-paced, physically active work environment, this position is for you.

This position handles and supervises our canine guests during their boarding and daycare stays with us to ensure our guests receive safe attentive care, including guest interaction management, play groups, feeding, bathing, and cleanup.

In this position, you will be leading the dogs’ daily schedule; greeting dogs upon arrival, organizing their food, supervising play groups, cleanup waste, monitor behavior and dog body language. Our full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our health insurance plan, supplemental insurance plan, and 401 K. Additionally, all full-time employees are enrolled in a company paid short term and long-term disability plan and life insurance policy.

This position includes a flexible working schedule, earned paid time off and compensation is based upon experience.

Skills Requirements

• 
  Great customer service skills, ability to interact with dog owners
• Ability to enter required dog information and create reports in our guest management software system
• Ability to work a full-time schedule, including early and/or late shifts, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to assist and remain calm when supervising groups of dogs (20-50 dogs/group)
• Ability to manage dog interactions in a group setting utilizing proper procedures
• Assist with feeding dogs and ensuring they receive their appropriate meals
• Ability to assist with maintaining cleanliness in our dog boarding and daycare areas, including hosing and scrubbing floor surfaces and picking up dog waste using proper protocols

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk and work on your feet for at least three hours at a time without a brea
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to bend down to open and close dog crate
• Ability to bend down to reach the floor repeatedly
• Ability to assist in moving dog crates up to 60 lbs
• Ability to lift dog food bags up to 60 lbs
• Ability to be outside for much of the day

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
