The Financial Consultant serves as financial liaison between leadership, operations, and other centralized functions; to provide financial guidance and expertise to all Carilion entities and management; to prepare financial studies, evaluations and analyses.

Performs specific job responsibilities:

• Communicates complex financial information concisely and comprehensively in an easy to understand manner while maintaining composure when confronted by difficult discussions.
• Educates and trains internal and external stakeholders on financial themes.
• Leads process improvement projects.
• Makes recommendations for change management, monitors results, and offers suggestions on course correction.
• Analyzes data and trends, prepares business plans/proposals/analyses and critically thinks through projects and next steps required for sound decision making.
• Researches and benchmarks data to recommend application of concepts to daily operations.
• Multitasks and prioritizes multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Demonstrates strong accountability and follow-through skills as well as a desire for continuous improvement.
• Performs detailed work timely with a high degree of accuracy and can ensure reasonableness of work.
• Works independently on planning process and business forecasting.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field or equivalent 8 years of experience required.

Experience: 3 plus years of finance or accounting experience. Healthcare preferred.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of Excel and forecasting models
