Specialized Requirements: A university degree preferably in the field of human resources or one that offers as opportunity to gain a well rounded human resources background; and/or an equivalent that includes three (3) years of progressive human resources experience in a generalist capacity with a minimum of five (5) years in a human resources manager function. Knowledge of federal and local labor laws, good conflict resolution skills. Well versed in software computer applications.
Position Summary
Establish procedures for management of the company's human resources department. Determine and enforce through functional groups the legal, regulatory and safety requirements as relates to federal and local regulatory agencies' compliance in accordance with current regulations. Work with employees as required, to ensure conformance with quality system requirements.
Organizational Requirements
The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the General Manager and has a support responsibility to all functional directors and managers.
Essential Functions Include But Not Limited To:
1. Recruitment and selection of job applicants.
2. Assist with organizational and space planning.
3. Assist managers monitor employee performance and identify training needs.
4. Analyze employee turnover through the analysis of employee exit interviews and propose employee retention programs.
5. Responsible for the compensation and benefits administration.
6. Ensure employee safety, welfare, wellness and health.
7. Analyze employee work injuries and/or health related issues and recommend programs to safeguard or avoid future incidents.
8. Establish employee performance management programs and improvement systems.
9. Responsible for new employee orientation, development, and training.
10. Recommend policy development, documentation and training.
11. Establish and manage employee recognition programs, sports and social events.
12. Manage compan y employee and community communication systems.
13. Revise job descriptions to maintain job performance standards and to ensure regulatory changes are maintained.
14. Manage counseling for both management and support personnel.
15. Address and resolve employee grievances.
16. Keep abreast with any federal and local labor law changes and make internal appropriate changes. Revise employee handbook as needed.
17. Conduct periodic salary and benefits surveys and recommend changes when applicable.
18. Update the HR policy and procedure manual accordingly.
19. Responsible for the appropriate display of announcements on employees' bulletin boards.
20. Responsible for departmental reports.
21. Maintain human resources memberships.
22. The basic responsibilities, as outlined above, may from time to time be varied to include additional responsibilities.
