Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Job Summary
Provide manufacturing-based engineering support from a flow manufacturing and/or fabrication perspective for both existing products and processes and for new ones as they progress from concept through development and into production.

Responsibilities

• Become an integral part of the Manufacturing and Engineering Teams by providing engineering, project management, and hands-on equipment specification, design, machining, assembly, purchasing, launch and testing support in all facets of the operation.

• Assist the team in all steps required to launch new products, and processes.

• Assist the team in implementing enhancements to safety, quality, and productivity.

• Take a lead role in designing and building equipment for flow manufacturing ranging from simple hand tools and fixtures to automated assembly lines.

• Take a lead role in supporting manufacturing operations through fixture design, development, and launch.

• Take a lead role in developing, maintaining, and supporting preventative maintenance programs for a wide range of molding and welding equipment.

• Support and/or drive continuous improvement, quality improvement, and enhanced manufacturing efforts.

• Be able to advise on business cases requiring information on equipment related variables such as reliability, cost, obsolescence, and effectiveness.

• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing related field with 3-D CAD experience and welding skills preferred. Alternatively hold an Associate’s or Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or Computer Integrated Manufacturing Technology with demonstrated success in a manufacturing environment.

• Must have a working knowledge in computer sciences to operate in a Windows environment using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and Microsoft Access. Should also have a working knowledge of PLCs and other controls technology. ERP experience beneficial.

• Electrical and pneumatic/hydraulics working knowledge beneficial

• Must have verbal, auditory and written English skills sufficient to receive work direction, to participate in cross-functional teams, to communicate with suppliers, to communicate with customers, and to be able to meet the reporting requirements of this position.

• Must be able to work within the IMMI facility, this is not a work at home position.

• Must be able to be mobile for the entire day as required, this is not a desk job.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently.

• May need to travel occasionally for the need arises for training, seminars, supplier visits, and/or customer visits.

• Must be able to contribute overtime occasionally required to complete projects in a timely manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
