The Member Development Director is primarily responsible for overseeing the growth of the network through the acquisition of new member agencies. This position conducts a thorough assessment of prospective new member agencies to ensure there will be mutual benefit for them and Virtuoso in growing their affluent leisure business. The position is posted in Fort Worth, Texas but other locations will be considered.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Proactively prospect for new members for US Region through collaboration with BI intelligence, Product Marketing Campaigns, and Member Relations leads
  • Support other Virtuoso regions on new member prospecting
  • Attend Global Advisory Board meetings as needed
  • Participate in developing new membership for US and Canada with product team
  • Work with member agencies interested in advisor leads and advisors interested in affiliation with a member agency
  • Work with senior leadership to develop RPF’s
  • Responsible for prospective member pitch deck
  • Work with operations team to streamline sales pipeline in CRM for prospective member agencies
  • Manage the Member Development Representative, Advisor Development and Engagement, and New Member Engagement Manager positions
  • Develop annual budget for member recruitment
  • Set sales goals and work closely with Member Access Product Manager to develop tools needed for prospecting for new member agencies

Educational and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years’ related experience demonstrating experience needed to excel in the role
  • Experience working on the travel agency side required
  • Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and work with different styles.
  • Strong understanding of budgets and P&L statements
  • Strong understanding of travel agency operations and opportunities for revenue
  • Work history reflecting strong project management skills
  • Experience in writing/editing an asset
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with strong attention to details
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve independently
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Forward thinking, curious, & creative
  • Ability in leading people or projects
  • Current business trend knowledge
  • Ability to collect and analyze complex information, problem solve, and make decisions
  • Strong skills in inspiring the win-win-win
  • Ability to work independently

Travel Requirements:

  • Infrequent travel may be required to attend company events. (1-3 trips per year)
  • Travel will be primarily domestic but may include some international.

Type/Nature of Contacts:

  • External: Constant communication with prospective members.
  • Internal: Key job contacts are primarily with managers and director level staff and above outside of the job’s immediate work unit/department.
