Escort students to the cafeteria

Assist students, when necessary, getting to the lunch tables
-
Circulate throughout the cafeteria while assigned classes are in the lunchroom
-
Assess the area of your class at the end of lunch, make sure students have cleaned up, wipe down the tables of your class and escort the students to recess (allow students to finish eating)

Decisions on whether recess is inside or outside will be made by the Principal
-
Circulate through the recess area to monitor student interaction
-
Utilize a positive approach to inappropriate student behavior

Refer students to the office if the inappropriate behavior escalates and cannot be dealt with
-
Set up tables and ensure everything is ready for students when they enter the cafeteria.

Put away tables after the final lunch period of the day.

Collect and remove trash and recycling from the cafeteria as applicable throughout the lunch period and at the end of the lunch periods.

Clean all cafeteria tables, benches and chairs after each lunch hour.

Sweep and mop the cafeteria floor after the last lunch hour.
-
Sweep and mop the kitchen area after the last lunch hour.
-
All other duties as assigned by the Noon-Aide Supervisor or Head Custodian at the respective buildings.

Job Description
Position: Noon-Aide/Cafeteria Assistant
Reports to: Noon-aide Supervisor/Head Custodian
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, ability to work well with students and staff; must be able to handle all confidential information in a discrete manner.
Terms of Employment: School year – 4 hours per day
Basic Functions: Under the direction of the onsite Noon-Aide Supervisor and Head Custodian, perform duties as designated below.
