Qualifications:
- Current Florida license.
- Must have at least one year of experience in physical therapy.
- Able to meet the health standards of employment: Must have been examined and appears to be free from apparent signs or symptoms of communicable disease including tuberculosis.
- Must maintain current cardio-pulmonary resuscitation certification.
- Must successfully complete orientation examinations and competencies.
- Provide documentation of continuing education/training including: TB/OSHA, HIV/AIDS, and Domestic Violence.
- Must maintain a valid Florida Driver's license and proof of insurance.
- Must have Level 2 Background Screening.
- Must sign an Affidavit for Good Moral Character.
Physical Requirements:
- Maintains physical capabilities to perform all work related duties.
- Able to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate varied levels of stress.
Working Conditions:
- Cares for physically combative patients.
- Potential exposure to hazardous substances (e.g., infectious materials)
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases.
- Works in homes and neighborhoods of a variety of socioeconomic groups.
- Frequent lifting of patients.
- Emotional stress factor inherent in position.
Responsibilities:
- Provides physical therapy services as prescribed by a physician who can be safely provided in the home and assisting the physician in evaluating patients by applying diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve joint and functional abilities test.
- Observe and record activities and findings in the clinical record and report to the physician the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition, or when there are deviations from the plan of care.
- Instructs other health team personnel including, when appropriate, home health aides and caregivers in certain phases of physical therapy with which they may work with the patient.
- Instructs the caregiver on the patient's total physical therapy program.'
