Job Description:
Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.

Responsibilities:
The platform engineer is a technologist with at least 7-10 years of information technology experience, with 3 years of financial services, and has worked in the agile development for 1-3 years.
- Motivated and driven technologist with a proven track record with a commitment to quality, efficiency, and excellence
- Financial services experience in Corporate / Wholesale Banking and/or Treasury / Cash Management
- Application development knowledge and experience
- Interpreting business needs and applying innovative technology solutions
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, basic project management skills and presentations skills
- Experience with SDLC / SW development processes (RUP, Agile, and Waterfall)
- Experience in application design construction, implementation, and maintenance
- Experience working with technical design process and models
- Broad understanding of the payment’s architecture and performance requirements
- Represent Payments Technology in programs/initiatives
- Financial services systems experience in Corporate / Wholesale Banking and/or Treasury / Cash Management
- Interpreting business requirements and technical solutions
- Drive the success of the test effort, coordinating with application teams and other partners
- Coordinate all partner team activities as they relate to the goal of defining the test plan. Holding frequent design, development, and execution and review/remediation checkpoints.
- Design metrics and frameworks for continuous improvement of engineering processes
- Collaborate with regional teams to build better engineering talent and better release outcomes
- Work effectively in a matrixed organization, with globally distributed stakeholders
- Identify risks and issues. Communicate same, proactively offering responses
- Collaborate. Express ideas and solutions, solicit feedback, work to implement the best ideas
Required Skills:
- 7 to 10 years’ experience in information technology, with 3+ years of financial services related experience
- Past experience leading engineering functions in an agile environment
- Experience with SDLC / SW development processes (RUP, Agile, and Waterfall)
- Leverage technical expertise through continuous mining of ideas, products and best practices
- Drive vendor selection activities including recommendations of when to make the appropriate build vs. buy decisions
- Experience in application design construction, implementation, and maintenance
- Ensure alignment of initiative level high and low designs against the agreed architectures and technology strategies
- Ensure adherence to the architecture governance processes and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Technical leadership and exposure across a broad scale of tools, technologies, and architecture models and application development teams
- Manage multiple development designs and projects to meet required timelines
- Design, develop, and certify technical solutions up to and including the creation of automated test suites
- Participate in agile and waterfall routines which includes bridging models when integrating with other teams
