Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner- Washington DC, McLean VA and Bethesda MD

PRN or Part Time

Avesta is hiring a full time dynamic Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for its centers located in McLean VA, Bethesda, MD and NW Washington DC. This is an opportunity to be instrumental with a program that offers Ketamine, and wellness infusions.

Must be adept at starting IVs and have great interpersonal skills.

Avesta Ketamine and Wellness consists o f a group of anesthesia and primary care practitioners who have a common goal o f managing our patients' wellbeing by providing a variety of services. Our Ketamine and Wellness infusions are individually designed to assist our patients in achieving their wellness goals , as well as optimizing mental and physical conditions .

The ideal candidate will be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, and be licensed to practice as an NP in MD and DC.

Responsibilities

• All activity for providing infusions of Ketamine and wellness infusions across the lifespan including but not limited to treatment, and coordination of care.
• Must have EXCELLENT IV skills.
• Ability to provide medication management and counseling.
• Ketamine/psychedelic integration therapy training is highly desired.
• Ensure patient information is accurately, carefully, and completely documented.
• Work and function in a culturally competent capacity with a diverse community of patients.
• Possess and utilize exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with all health team members and support staff, and with our patients.
• Be able to work independently without consultation of an on-premise Medical Doctor.
• At least 1 year of experience. May consider less experience if other attributes are compelling.

Requirements

• Active license in MD, VA and DC
• Own malpractice insurance
• Excellent IV skills
• Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skills
• Ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously
• Able to collaborate with professional colleagues as necessary to provide superior quality care
• Great organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Comfortable using computer (laptop) and software (Microsoft Suite, EMR, etc.)
