Research and Development Engineer
Job description
Growing industrial manufacturer is looking for an R&D Engineer to add to their team. This is a good position for a recent college graduate with an engineering degree or someone with 1-2 years of experience.
Duties include:
- Statistical and numerical analysis, root cause analysis, risk analysis, and financial analysis.
- Assist Range Technicians in the optimization of range operations and processes.
- Design tools, fixtures, and or machines to aid in the experimental process, and maintain/repair range equipment
- Perform research on new models, methodologies, and analyses to better aid in product development and analyses.
- Ensures facilities, personnel, and experiments are adhering to applicable standards.
- Capable of performing and/or creating experiment(s) required to perform testing.
- Must work well under pressure, organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines.
- Must be flexible, handling changes in work requirements productively, and perform other tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to perform multiple projects simultaneously, efficiently, and communicate progress to his/her superiors.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of on-going projects.
- Interact with material suppliers to obtain sample materials and material specification
- Request quotes from external test labs and enter purchase requisitions into system.

QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Materials Science) or 2+ years of experience in a Research & Development or Testing field.
§ Requires strong knowledge of mechanics and materials, failure theories, and textile manufacturing processes. Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles and ISO 9001 is a plus.
§ AutoCAD or Solidworks experience a plus.
§ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to include MACROS.
§ Ability to review and analyze experimental data, test samples, and maintain a database with the experimental data.
§ Capable of working independently or part of a team.
§ Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
