Responsibilities
This role is to join our scientific staff where you will be supporting our R&D effort in the areas of molecular biology, genomics and biochemistry. You will be expected to interact directly with all parts of the company and work in collaboration with our cell biology and animal model teams to generate molecules for evaluation in cell culture and animal models.
- Generate DNA constructs that will be used to produce critical molecular components including nucleic acids and proteins.
- Produce and purify molecular components with high quality and quantity to support the research effort.
- Implement and develop approaches to assess the biochemical property of molecular components that will help guide further improvement in design and performance.
- Demonstrates a significant level of intellectual input in generating hypothesis and designing experiments.
- Executes the planned experiments with independence and technical excellence.
- Records all experimental plans and findings clearly and thoroughly.
- Analyzes and interprets experimental findings with critical thinking and attention to detail
- Suggests sound follow-up tests and/or trouble shooting approaches based on results.
- Presents findings, responds to questions, and participates in discussions in team meetings.
- Reads and understands relevant scientific literature
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a hands-on experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or related life sciences fields that involve significant experience in nucleic acid and protein analyses
- Proficient in molecular cloning using restriction enzyme-based approach. Experience in cloning by Gibson assembly is a plus.
- Experienced in performing RNA/DNA extractions from cells or tissues and with nucleic acids analyses methods such as gel electrophoresis, PCR, qPCR, and sequencing.
- Having experience in RNA production using in vitro transcription would be a strong plus.
- Experience with protein purification and analyses using SDS-PAGE, Western blots, and related skills in protein characterization would be desirable.
- Excellent organizational, time, and data management skills, and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and work under tight time constraints.
- Excellent perception and evaluation abilities with attention to detail. Highly accountable for data accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and meticulous record keeping.
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and strive for continued learning and improvement.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree and 2+ years of experience in molecular biology, biochemistry or similar fields
Compensation
Competitive compensation package consisting of base salary, annual performance bonus, incentive and equity/stock participation.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
