Job Description:
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, required; Master's degree, preferred
- 5 or more years of relevant experience, preferred
- Well versed in quantitative statistics and interpretation of findings
- Grant writing experience, a plus
- Certification as a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP), preferred
- Must be self-motivated, take direction, and have a high commitment to quality
- Expected to work at a fast pace with high comprehension
- Comfortable with asking questions and receiving performance feedback
- Capable of recruiting research study subjects in-person, by phone, and virtually
- Experience with electronic medical records, especially EPIC, a plus but not required
- Office, research or health care environment is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Position Summary (Specific Duties/Expectations):
Specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to
the following:
- Support Assistant Director and/or Director of Clinical Research in the training, education, and mentorship of research coordinators at Scottish Rite for Children
- Execution of approved study protocols
- Submission and organization of required documents to regulatory agencies including the Institutional Review Board
- Collection and recording research data in a systematic, reliable, and accurate manner to ensure data integrity, generating required reports and/or data for the principle investigator or other study personnel and maintain regulatory binders
- Contributes to the analysis of data for research projects
- Contributes to the writing of abstracts, posters, lectures, PowerPoint presentations, manuscripts and/or grants for presentation and/or publications,
- Helps with preparation and submission, including, completion of applicable literature searches
- Organizes weekly research meetings with Principle Investigators and provides reports/updates on research studies and activities
- General administrative tasks, including scanning and filing clinical research forms and documents
- Assist with screening and recruitment for potential study subject enrollment, obtain and document informed consent, and notify appropriate staff of patient's research recruitment
- Contribute to process development, data collection and management, record keeping, and database/registry maintenance
- Assist with and/or take the lead with scheduling patients and support call-back studies
- Contribute to internal and industry-sponsored audits and
- Develop appropriate time lines for completion of projects
- Communicate with researchers to resolve issues in order to meet project milestones and deadlines
- Maintain confidentially of patients and their families
Team Responsibilities and Personal Development
- Attends relevant in-house conferences, as needed (Grand Rounds, Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Movement Sciences, case conferences, annual Brandon Carrell, and others)
- Observe clinical conferences, meetings, clinics, and/or surgeries as needed
- May supervise/coordinate activities and work for research students (medical and non-medical), interns, residents, and fellows
- Interface with various departments within Scottish Rite to obtain the information and/or support necessary to conduct research
- Read literature relevant to pediatric orthopaedic Sports Medicine
