Nashville Knee & Shoulder Center, PLLC, is a busy orthopedic office seeking an experienced RN to join our team, serving as the primary clinical assistant to one physician and one physicians assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and motivated employee. We are looking for someone that takes pride in their work and enjoys taking care of patients. Orthopedic experience is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be emphasized, and appropriate time will be allowed to develop the necessary skill set.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

• Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, test results and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other aspects of patient care.
• Assisting with innovative procedures such as injections.
• Applying necessary braces, splints, and casts.
• Demonstrating home exercise and rehabilitation programs.
• Assisting with medication prescriptions.
• Scheduling patients and assisting with the management of the practitioners’ clinic schedules and consult requests
• Compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families, both written and verbally.
• Providing phone triage regarding clinical and administrative questions.
• Administrative chart duties, including faxing and filing.
• Ordering braces and supplies and tracking this inventory
• Scheduling procedures and obtaining pre-authorizations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• HIPPA and OSHA compliance; promote a safe work environment at all times.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with medical staff and explain procedures to patients.
• Caring demeanor towards patients and co-workers.
• The ability to assimilate clinical knowledge and terminology.
• Working knowledge of computers, fax, copiers, and other technology.

CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Licensure/certification in one’s field (RN)
• 2+ years of experience in the medical field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
