Secuity Officers/All Shifts

Flushing Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 293 bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off-campus, ambulatory surgery, and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking experienced licensed Security Officers for part-time and full-time evening and night, shift opportunities.

Under the direction of the Security Director, selected Security Officers will perform a variety of security and safety-related functions while involved in the safeguard of employees, patients, visitors, and property as outlined in the FHMC policy manual.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for hospital patients, staff, and visitors
• Actively monitoring and surveilling persons entering hospital facilities and controlling access to sensitive areas.
• Assisting management in enforcing safety regulations.
• Maintaining visit front desk sign-in roster.
• Documenting and maintaining incident log reports
• Utilizing verbal techniques to deescalate crisis situations.
• Conducting building and grounds surveillance activities to detect and report safety violations.
• Enforcing access control policy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.43 - $25.55 per hour

Experience:

• Security: 1 year (Required)
• Law enforcement: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Fire Guard certification (Required)
• Driver's License (Preferred)
