Position Summary

Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.

Stratolaunch is looking for a Shop Assistant to perform duties including aiding Facilities, Office Manager, Shop, Shipping / Receiving, EH&S and Engineering.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Stock material racks, keep clean and make sure that rack covers are clean and in working order
• Keep resin stations clean and stocked with necessary shop supplies. Ratio resin pumps daily as well as fill up accordingly
• Take out empty prepreg boxes, trash etc.
• Help maintain and organize the Shop storage area’s both 221, 222
• Keep filler bin full (cabo, flox, micro) as well as sandpaper, grinding discs etc. in all dust booths
• Help Keep bottled water stocked when needed for both buildings
• Help maintain and Organize freezers with pre preg material
• General Housekeeping including facility organization
• Maintain all alcohol and acetone bottles and pals
• Help Fastenal maintain dry stock when needed
• Parts runners from S&R to owners (while we have C19)
• When needed help keep GSE clean (tugs, stairs, etc.)
• Materials and parts runner to outside vendors when needed

OFFICE MANAGER ASSISTANCE

• Help in stocking drinks/sodas/snacks
• Help with picking up orders/deliveries
• Help with changes that happen inside the office/facility (e.g. Moving furniture and equipment)
• Help with getting office supplies and orders from Shipping & Receiving
• General assistance as required

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Mechanical courses or Mechanical experience.
• Specific skills: Basic computer skills desirable.
• Specialized knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Valid CA or equivalent Driver’s License and clean driving record

WORK CONDITIONS

General Office, Shop, and outdoors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Time spent between standing, walking, stooping, walking, lifting (able to lift 75lbs) and occasional climbing.

Mojave Air & Spaceport is located 95 miles north of Los Angeles. Food and drink fanatics are in a haven of delectable choices. Wine aficionados will also find easy access to some of the state’s best vino in Paso Robles, Santa Ynez, and even more locally in Tehachapi and Agua Dulce. Beer fanatics will find some of the best West Coast IPAs at Bravery and Lucky Luke’s in Lancaster. Any food option you crave is covered, and we always recommend the authentic and fresh Mexican food that you won’t find anywhere else in the United States.
