Job overview / summary
The Sr. IT Stack Engineer job is a technical job to manage day-to-day operations in cloud/datacenters, primarily in regards to setup, configuration and operations of virtualization layer, hardware (servers, storage), operating systems, Etc... Sr. IT Stack Engineer works closely with Design Architects, Service Design Specialists, Application Engineers and Second Level Support Engineers in Service Delivery and Operations and can have expertise/focus areas towards network. Sr. IT Stack Engineers help in handling service requests, change, incident and in problem management. Sr. IT Stack Engineers have responsibility for operations of virtualization layer, hardware, and operating systems. In addition, IT Stack Engineers manage both physical and logical access to configuration items and help in documenting cloud and datacenter routines. Important skills for the Sr IT Stack Engineer are advanced technical and IT Stack knowledge of services provided by Service Delivery and Operations, as well as service management knowledge. More specifically, knowledge of virtualization (VMware), operating systems (Linux and MS), hardware configuration and installation and complex software/infrastructure solutions are required. Our US operations are headquartered in Dulles, Virginia and this hybrid role will be based out of Atlanta, GA (Sandy Springs) and may require up to 10% travel.Objectives

- Follow Service Delivery and Operations process landscape and compliance requirements

Additional Accountabilities for the senior level engineers
- Senior level experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, RH Satellite, Shell and Python scripting
- Senior level experience with RHEL OS, vSphere (Vmware), Storage, SSL certificate management, etc...
- Strong Data Center and Azure workflow and process knowledge
- Security best practices Server hardening, access control, etc..
- Setup and operations of virtualization layer, including Vmware, VMs etc.
- Setup and operations of hardware, including HSM, servers, clusters and storage
- Setup and operations of operating systems
- Manage physical and logical access to configuration items
- Setup and operations of monitoring, in collaboration with Design Architects, Cloud & DC Manager and Second Level Support Engineers (for dashboards)
- Document cloud/datacenter routines (e.g. incident, problem, change, periodic reviews)
- Plan and execute changes, including coordination, planning and notification about changes
Responsibilities
- Identify improvements in setup, capacity expansion etc.
- Perform health checks and maintenance of infrastructure
- Support Cloud & DC Manager with information to be used in capacity planning
- Inform Regional Head Service Delivery & Operations and Global Resource Coordinator when unplanned work will impact planned work
- Maintain CMDB and knowledge base in accordance with processes and tools provided
- Participate in internal (e.g. cloud, automation, cloud/datacenter optimization) and customer projects
- Provide technical input to Customer Service Manager in regards to incident and problem report creation
- Collaborate with Database Engineers when support is needed in regards to database topics during projects and operations
- Provide input to Test Engineers for enhancements of existing procedures
- Provide input to compliance and informations security related reports requested from Information Security Manager and Service Quality Manager
- Provide input regarding future and continuous needs in regards to new investments to maintain existing and future services to Cloud & DC Manager and Regional Head Service Delivery & Operations
- Manage time in accordance with planned and assigned activities to ensure accuracy and quality in planning
- Follow Servcie Delivery and Operations global policies, procedures and tools
- Meet compliance and information security requirements in Service Operations
- Evaluate, improve and add applicable work instructions
- Identify and address day to day continuous improvement activities towards Regional Service Quality Manager and/or supervisor for further actions, related to tools, procedures and compliance fulfilment
- Timely and accurate time reporting
- Evaluation and introduction of new technologies, in collaboration with Design Architects and Service Design Specialists
- Have deep understanding of compliance and information security requirements in service operations
- Participate as technical consultant in customer meetings after project kick-off (supported by Project Manager) and for live customers (supported by Customer Service Manager)
Education and experience
- University degree in Computer Sciences, IT or related technical/engineering field (certifications and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
- Experience in operations of virtualization layer, hardware, operating systems, firewalls and/or monitoring
- Preferably Telecommunications and/or Payment industry experience
- Preferably experience of working across different cultures
- Minimum of 8 years of IT Stack experience in similar position working in cloud or datacenter environment
- ITIL v3/v4 foundation certification
- Leadership and management experience
