KS Engineers, P.C. is looking to hire a Survey Instrument Technician for our Surveying Department. This will be primarily a field position, reporting to our corporate office in Newark, NJ. The successful candidate must possess general knowledge of land surveying principles and practices, and must be able to perform under the direction of the Survey Crew Chief and assist in the coordination of field activities, including the effective operations, performance, and maintenance of all survey equipment. In addition, must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with our staff and the general public.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for loading survey equipment into vehicles for transport to sites, ensuring that all necessary equipment is included and is in proper working order, assembling and dismantling equipment, setting control ties, and obtaining pipe sizes, inverts, and record measurements.

To perform the essential functions of the job, the position may require moderately strenuous tasks, such as lifting and carrying instruments weighing up to 50 pounds over rough terrain, and may also require the candidate to clear vegetation, dig holes, pound stakes with a sledge hammer, and operate hand and electric tools. The candidate must have, at a minimum, a High School Diploma and possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
