Job Title: Technical Services Manager-New Albany, IN

Department: Management

Reports To: Plant Manager-New Albany, IN

Status: Full Time/Salary Exempt

Job Competency Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years equivalent related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years production – management experience strongly desired. Effective and competent written and verbal communication skills. Able to deal with employees, customers, and suppliers. Technical certification desired. Knowledge of CAD applications and blue print interpretation required. Ability to coordinate and manage any manufacturing activities.

Job Summary:

Plans, directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, and integration of all plant operations and completion of project(s) within area of assigned responsibility. Performs job functions personally or through subordinates, such as engineers, office workers, and production supervisors. Oversees the overall production operations of a plant to meet company and division production objectives at optimum cost.

Job Functions:

Generally speaking, successful candidate will have strong injection molding technical skills; hot runner, cold runner, valve gate sequencing, and be able to set up a new machine and mold and establish a process that can produce a quality part with a repeatable process.

1. Plans manpower and equipment requirements

2. Develops and maintains an effective organization through selection, training compensation and motivation of all personnel.

3. Directs maintenance of facility(s), either through a systematic program of repairs or through initiation of fixed capital requests.

4. Responsible for daily/weekly production planning to meet customer requirements of quality, quantity, and delivery.

5. Responsible for inventory control, assembly quality and upkeep of plant.

6. Coordinates production requirements with manufacturing, purchasing, and component subcontractors.

7. Monitors operating conditions and manufacturing schedules by frequent communication with division Manufacturing, Sales and Material departments.

8. Directs activities that provide assurance that safety, health and environment rules and regulations are met and exceeded.

9. Ensures safety and good housekeeping requirements are implemented.

10. Initiates various programs that lead to improved quality, decreased effluent pollution, lower costs, and overall efficiency.

11. Directs the various department managers in the preparation and implementation of plant operating plans.

12. Plans, coordinates and ensures that “Quality System” requirements are fully followed in manufacturing.

13. Provides expertise to the line organization in the development of standards of performance in all areas of product responsibility.

14. Determines plant policies consistent with division and corporate policies and directs and supervises the application of such policies to the plant’s manufacturing operations.

15. Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by local regulatory agencies.

16. Coordinates finished product manufacturing and shipping requirements.

17. Handles personnel matters at plant level.

18. Plans and formulates required engineering program(s) and organizes project staff according to project requirements.

19. Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.

20. Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

21. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.

22. Directs integration of technical activities and products.

23. Evaluates drawing releases and assists with implementation of design and specification changes.

24. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.

25. Prepares interim and completion project reports.

26. Manage and direct personnel as required

Physical Demands:

Walking and sitting – sometimes required on production floor

Use of hands - to handle and feel parts.

Environment: Production plant floor environment and office environment

Equipment: Occasional use of computers, hand held gages and office tools

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
