WHAT WE NEED:
The Town of Harrisburg currently has an employment opportunity in our Engineering Department for a Town Engineer. This is a great opportunity for someone who is up for the challenge of a busy engineering operation. An employee in this class performs professional engineering work and directs plan review, site inspection, and construction industry relations to provide centralized, efficient and effective construction quality of Town infrastructure. Work involves performing or overseeing engineering design and supervising construction inspections; budget planning and administration; serving as storm water administrator; developing and overseeing maintenance of infrastructure construction standards in the Town; and coordination with the construction industry and other Town departments and divisions. Work requires strong technical and interpersonal skills, ability to plan and organize work on multiple simultaneous projects, strong collaborative conflict resolution skills, and knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices. Work may subject the employee to environmental conditions including working in both inside and some outside environments, extreme temperatures, and construction noise and hazards.
DESIREABLE CANDIDATE:
We are looking for an individual with a bachelor’s degree from a college or university in civil engineering, and considerable related engineering experience, preferably in a municipal or utilities setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Considerable supervisory experience required. Must possess a NC Professional Engineer License. Must posses a valid NC driver’s license.

The salary range is $94,063 - $139,947 and starting salary will be dependent on qualifications and prior experience.
