AWEgmented is a seed-funded startup company located in the South-coast area of Massachusetts. We create AR/VR/XR and 3D computing applications for cultural engagement, education, and entertainment.
Position Description
We are looking for a Unity developer to work collaboratively as part of a highly-talented and cross-functional team creating engaging, high-quality interactive experiences for AR and VR. Your primary responsibility will be to support the team by coding for app development. This position provides the opportunity to get involved in an early-stage business and help us grow. We prefer someone in the
Boston, MA, or Providence, RI area who can meet in-person a few times per month, but fully remote is also possible. This position has the potential to turn into full-time as the company grows.

The ideal candidate is familiar with Agile workflows and design sprints. Because we are a startup, you will work in many different product areas. You must be self-motivated, eager to solve ill-defined problems collaboratively, and able to adapt to new circumstances quickly.

Technical Requirements
- Design, develop, and implement projects using Unity
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and other developers to create project features and functionality
- Debug and optimize code for performance and stability
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Minimum skills
- Proven experience with mobile development in Unity
- Proven experience with C#
- General programming skills (in languages other than C# like C++, Java, etc.)
- General problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn what is necessary
- Technical knowledge of current hardware and operating systems for mobile/AR/XR and understanding of industry-standard development tools.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively
Desired skills
- Production experience shipping games or VFX productions.
- Experience publishing for mobile iOS and Android.
- Familiarity with XR hardware (headsets, tracking, peripherals).
- Experience developing in AR/VR
- Android NDK
- Java for Android Development
- CMake
- Gradle Build Tool
- Oculus / Meta Quest 2 Development using Unity and/or Unreal Engine
- Publishing apps to the Oculus/Rift Store & App Lab
- iOS Development in Unity
- Publishing Apps to the Apple Store
- AR Kit development for iOS

- Microsoft Win32 API
- Experience in x64 Assembly

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
