VISITOR INFORMATION ASSISTANCE
Location: Arlington National Cemetery
Visitor Information Assistance (VIA):
VIA’s will offer general information, directions, and other forms of assistance to visitors at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
Non-supervisory VIA personnel shall, at a minimum, possess the following:

• Associate’s Degree and no less than three years of relevant work experience such as a visitor use assistant, docent, park guide, or in-person customer service;

or

• Five years of relevant experience such as a visitor use assistant, docent, park guide, or in-person customer service.

VIA personnel assigned to the Information Desk at the Welcome Center shall have basic computer skills, ability to operate kiosks and basic office equipment, and the ability to communicate clearly in written electronic mail (emails).
Must pass extensive background investigation
Please Note:

• Employees in this position will be required to work outside and to be standing on their feet and/or walking for* extended periods of time**.

*

• Each shift is approximately 10 hours, and it is normal for employees to be on their feet or to be walking for 8-9 hours of their shift.
• Employees work in all weather conditions (rain/sleet, snow, thunder and lightning, hail, 100+ degree temperatures, 100% humidity).
• Candidates for these positions must be physically able to perform the requirements of the job.

• The availability to do shift work, weekend work and holiday work is required.
