Purpose of the Position:

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment, while effectively providing support to the remote stores, sales staff, design room, and delivery, as needed.

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

· Measure cooler temperature and record twice daily.

· Recognize and continue to learn flower varieties.

· Monitor front display cooler twice a day to make sure it is well stocked with all available flowers.

· Clean and organize the back stock of fresh product in the back of the front cooler.

· Maintain flower rotation throughout all coolers and all stores, which includes properly rotating stock to ensure the oldest is pulled first, as well as tagging, roping off and keeping secure all items needing to be held or reserved for wedding and special events.

· Pull flowers needed for design room from back cooler to keep them stocked.

· Cut and process flowers each shipment day and rotate in all coolers at all stores.

· Maintain equipment used for processing– verifying sharpness and cleanliness of blades, strippers, and cutters etc and keep all parts in good working order.

· On Processing days - Ensuring all boxes are accounted for, and that all flowers ordered have arrived and quality of flowers meets Billy Heroman’s expectations.

· Properly identifying all flowers that do not meet Billy Heroman’s expectations and using the proper procedure for claiming them with administrations help.

· Use proper care and handling procedures outlined by managements training.

· Process flower and supply orders from each location and deliver to the stores in good condition and in a timely manner.

· Process merchandise and supply orders from other stores.

· Maintain proper rotation of older product at other stores and bring back to main store for rotation and funeral production.

· Maintain and inventory warehouse stock.

· Maintain all wedding props and party material – including pulling for events – storage/handling and prep - cleaning and putting away upon return also.

· Empty trash twice daily, sweep floors when needed and necessary to ensure safe operations.

· Prepare carts in advance of flower deliveries, leave out by the back gate and leave space in cooler for truckers to be able to place boxes without damaging other product.

· Keep large glassware (cylinders, tall square, etc) cleaned and prepared for use.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in an environment with varying climates. The individual performing this job must be able to perform his/her job duties while exposed to varying temperatures, including working in a storage cooler (approx. 35 degrees).

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This job requires the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs or more and the ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. The individual performing this job must also be able to climb ladders; have good dexterous use of both hands; and be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday-Friday 7:00AM to 4:00PM, with some nights and weekends. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must work a minimum of 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
