POSITION SUMMARY: CODING SUPERVISOR

AMS is currently seeking an experienced Coding Supervisor to join the team in our Chappaqua, NY office. This professional will report directly to the Senior Coding Manager. The Coding Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to manage an assigned team of anesthesia coding specialists from a technical, operational, and human resources perspective and ensure that all processes performed by the team are completed in a timely and efficient manner to achieve departmental goals.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday

Location: Hybrid, 3 days onsite

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the daily oversight of coding team performance. This includes monitoring of quality, the assurance of productivity, the determination of priorities, and the management of workflow.
• Provides training and guidance to coding staff to ensure that all CPT and ICD10 codes billed are appropriate and supported by documentation in the patient record.
• Advises coding staff on actions required to meet minimum performance requirements and provides ongoing feedback on areas for improvement.
• Acts as an expert resource to all departments within AMS to review and resolve coding issues related to their team. This may include researching available documentation in multiple electronic systems and/or seeks clarification from the performing provider.
• Reviews completed batches daily for accurate and timely release of claims.
• Remains informed of current coding regulations and ensures that all members of coding team follow payer policies and standard procedures.
• Collaborates with Compliance Officer over documentation concerns or issues brought forward by coding staff
• Provides leadership and maintains a high standard of professional conduct at all times

Other coding duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certification requirement: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through the American Academy of Professional Coding (AAPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
• Five years of professional coding experience; anesthesia or surgical coding highly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and CPT and ICD10 coding guidelines

• Proficient with computer applications (MS Office etc.)
• Must be motivated with a positive attitude and exceptional work ethic

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Experience:
