Golf Shop Merchandiser & Event Coordinator
Position Concept: The Golf Shop Merchandiser & Event Coordinator position assists Mill Creek Golf Club by providing an excellent customer experience by facilitating tournament and group outings as well as other player development events. They also are in charge of maintaining the golf shops image by frequently checking inventory levels and ordering new apparel and equipment.
Specific Responsibilities: include but are not limited to:
- Assist with all tournament operations by contacting and facilitating member and guest golf tournaments and outings
- Develop innovative ways to engage golfers to club events through our marketing department.
- Assist in planning and budgeting for tournament operations including operational costs and promotional fees.
- Assist in coordinating golf activities with the entire golf operations.
- Provide excellent event experiences through professional organization, proper event staffing and great customer service.
- Assist in coordinating and running weekly Junior golf camps (June-July)
- Frequently monitor inventory levels and maintain appearance of the golf shop
- Assist with ordering new apparel and equipment
- Complete receivings for newly stocked items
- Assist with promotional sales and displays for the golf shop
Knowledge, Skills and Traits
- Knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
- Background in sales and merchandising
- Acting role model and motivator for all employees
- Maintaining a high level of enthusiasm for each event.
- Strong organizational, communication, planning and prioritization skills.
- Self – motivated with a desire to promote and market events through Mill Creek marketing department.
- Experienced computer skills including: Microsoft Word and Excel, Facebook and Instagram promotional advertising, Email, Golf Genius Tournament software (preferred).
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community through local community outreach opportunities.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- Most of your time will be spent coordinating and executing golf events as well as merchandising. As time allows, 2 to 3 shifts per week working in the golf operations.
- Peak tournament season at Mill Creek is from Mid March through October.
Pay
· This position pay range is $15 to $17 per hour with a potential increase after 90 days of excellent performance.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
