Ceramics Lab Technicians have two primary functions: manufacture and preparation of ceramic materials (powders) and final inspection of ceramic preforms. Technicians also perform ancillary duties as assigned by the Ceramics Supervisor and/or Ceramics Department Lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare raw ceramic frit for use.
  • Reprocess used ceramic powders from the Bead Room.
  • Inspect ceramic preforms turned in by Bead Press Operators.
  • Ancillary tasks as requested or assigned by the Ceramic Supervisor and/or Ceramic Lead.
  • To manage hazardous materials exposure, Ceramic Lab Technicians work ½ day in the Lab grinding and preparing powders, and ½ day in the office inspecting finished preforms.

  • Candidates must have good vision and fine hand control.
  • Some lifting required (up to 25 pounds).
  • Candidates with good math skills and Excel experience are preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general educational degree (GED) required
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; preferred
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Health and Safety Notice:

All Ceramics Department personnel are required to abide by and be regularly tested via blood draws per GSP-018, Lead Hygiene Plan.

All Ceramics Department personnel must wear the assigned and provided PPE, including but not limited to lab coats, respirators, dust masks, and gloves, as and when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 5x8
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Wenatchee, WA 98801: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Lab Tech: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

  • English (Preferred)
