Responsibilities:
Technica is seeking an Systems Administrator, Senior to support the FBI Enterprise Applications and Database Services division. Customer requires a System Administrator to support an existing HP Service Manager ticketing system. The team supports the existing HP Service Manager application currently in production responsible for all incident, request, and change ticket requests for the FBI enterprise.

System Administrator, Senior should be highly skilled in proactively maintaining systems, troubleshooting availability and performance issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.

Duties include:
  • Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems
  • Recommend and integrate approved new technologies into existing data center environments
  • Apply monthly Operating System (OS) updates, patches, and configuration changes
  • Install and configure new hardware and software as required
  • Add, remove, or update user account information, resetting passwords
  • Maintain security of hardware, software, and data file access
  • Provide system performance tuning
  • Configure, add, and delete file systems
Requirements:
  • Active TS with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline
  • 5 years of experience with Windows and Linux based server environments
  • Experience with operating system commands and utilities as well as scripting
  • Familiar with authentication, security, and disaster recovery
  • Experience working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, engineering team
  • Experience in troubleshooting and remediation within multiple Information system
  • Experience installing and upgrading applications or databases and performing system maintenance
  • Experience with IT Service Management principles
  • Will maintain ITSM system, including adds, moves, changes, and backups
  • Troubleshoots issues as needed
  • Maintains complete set of documentation on infrastructure and application changes, including modifications and programmatic scripts
  • Coordinates with developers for changes to the ITSM system
  • Handles assigned tickets and directs tickets to appropriate resources
  • Good communication skills
Desired:
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian Suite / JIRA Service Manager
