Duties:
- Work shoulder to shoulder with the end user at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio
- Harness your engineering expertise and personal communications skills to improve system performance and operator productivity
- Act as a liaison between customers and our development team to recommend new features and product enhancements
- Work on a cross-functional team of system engineers, developers, and operators to sustain and improve mission critical capabilities
- Act as the local on-site expert, representing our company to the customer's organization
- Serve as a customer advocate in influencing product roadmap and improvements
- Support field activities associated with installing, integrating, testing, maintaining and servicing operational and R&D systems/products
- Demonstrate good communication skills and uses those skills to gather information concerning the operational state and performance of system/equipment
- Troubleshoot technical problems and issues and liaises with appropriated vendors, OEMs, company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution
- Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements in accordance with specific customer specifications and mission needs
- Conduct and deliver technical briefings with customers, vendors and company representatives
- Aid site and plant personnel in establishing efficient and technically correct procedures for the maintenance and monitoring of system/equipment in compliance with established vendor procedures
- Keep current in the state-of-the-art on the subsystem(s) involved to ensure continuing qualification to assist the site personnel as a technical adviser
- Provide emergency on-call 24x7 support to system activities, if needed
- Represent our organization at the local customer local site and provide insight and guidance on day-to-day system operations, opportunities and issues; as well as lend technical assistance in fielding, maintaining and troubleshooting systems.
- Participate in technical meetings and discussions concerning the operational performance and performance reliability of our real-world data collection and analysis system
- Consult with colleagues and program partners on the integration of products and services to extend operational capabilities and explore new frontiers
- Serve as a liaison for production leads, system analysts and support personnel, capturing critical system performance feedback and ensuring that information is disseminated to key system stake holders
- Document failures and corrective actions in accordance with defined procedures, and makes technical recommendations based on this collective data
- Conduct on-the-job training in cooperation with the site personnel
Ideal Background:
- 5 Years of applicable work experience
- Experience providing customer engagement support in a high visibility, rapid response, operational system environment
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- The ability to prioritize system problems based on their impacts to mission operations at site
- The ability to articulate system problems with site technicians and OEMs to promote communication and coordination across support teams
- Experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7+, Window 10 and Windows Server 2016 operating systems
- Familiarity with virtualization software and hardware, such as vSphere and ESXi
- A desire to work in an operational mission environment driven by day-to-day customer requirements
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of resourcefulness and initiative
- A high degree of drive for shared successes, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments
- An affinity to learning and being able to quickly apply new knowledge for the benefit of our systems and mission
- Fully proficient ability to promote concepts and ideas to a diverse audience
Big Pluses:
- Certifications (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Security+, Network+ or A+) with hands on technical system expertise
- Familiarity with systems that process collected signal data and publish intelligence products
- System administration skills, to include fluency with scripting languages
- Exceptional communication skills, with the confidence to get buy-in on concepts and ideas
- Creative thinking and the ability to multi-task
- Aptitude to quickly grasp and apply new information
- A high degree of tact, diplomacy, and the ability to successfully engage with military and civilian personnel at all levels
Required Education: Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience.
